We are Serenity Custom Calls
As an avid hunter, the idea of having to limit what I do and how I do it has been difficult to handle. When I sit down in the workshop with my tools, and start turning calls, it is easy to get lost in the moment. The pain in my back does not go away and some days I get more accomplished than others.
Making these calls is more than just turning wood on a lathe. Team work is what gets things accomplished. My family and friends help with finding and cutting wood, sealing and kiln drying it, laminating woods together, assembling calls, ordering supplies, making decals, shirts and hats, creating awesome acrylic call blanks and more. Everyone has an area that they enjoy doing and everything just seems to come together.
When the diagnosis of a rare, inoperable spine disease hit our family in 2015 we were unsure of how we would make it through. After having worked since I was 15, it was hard to think that I would not be able to work to make a living for the rest of my life. Then I saw a show about making calls and decided I wanted to try it out. With the love, support and help from my family and friends we are making the dream of a business into a reality.
